My journey started when I dislocated bones in my foot, battled ongoing infections, and had to wear orthopedic boots for almost a year. I was unable to heal and that’s what led to my left below-knee amputation in January 2018. I was fitted for my first preparatory prosthesis in March of 2018 and 7 months later have now transitioned to my permanent prosthesis. I am very relieved that I am no longer having pain while walking, and I hope to be able to walk with just a cane soon. I am back to my customer service job that I was doing prior to my amputation.
I love the fact that when I come to VSA Prosthetics, if I am having a problem, I can also see one of the doctors or physician assistants at the same time. This is a wonderful set up and is very convenient. I am very appreciative to all the staff at VSA Prosthetics for helping me get my life back.
